Arlo Parks: Soft Machine Tour

We were brought onto this project to refine the existing system of the tour. Taking the load off the Lighting operator, Belinda Best, who was previously operating both her GrandMA and Resolume during the shows.

Utilising the DMX functionality and Timecode within Resolume we created a fully automated system where the lighting desk sent cues to Resolume via Artnet to trigger the correct videos which would then run to TC, creating a seamless playback system.

The tour had 2 designs to accommodate different venue sizes. One with LED and one with projection, so we created an identical show running in tandem that featured dynamic masks to suit the projection design, this allowed the operator to create cues in their stack that would fade in these masked versions musically but simply muting this layer in Resolume allowed the LED version to playout un-interrupted. The masks were created within Resolume to allow any fine tuning throughout the tour as no two shows are ever quite the same.
